Information requests that cannot be answered through resources available at the local library may be referred to NSLAPR. The NSLAPR Reference Department will take reference questions over the telephone. Use the toll-free telephone number (1-800-922-2880) when calling from outside of the Reno-Carson City area. Or, send the request via email to nslref@admin.nv.gov. When making these subject requests, provide as much information as possible, such as:
Nature of the subject - Be as specific as possible; describe it in detail; include keywords, ‘buzzwords’, concepts, and any other relevant terms. Include too much information rather than not enough
Type/amount of material needed - Books, articles, etc. topics - in depth or general particular time periods
Other general requirements - Reason for request (if given); patron’s level of knowledge in subject area; is patron willing to pay or not; what materials have already been provided or used; where information has already been sought.
