The Nevada State Publications Program makes state publications freely available to Nevadans by distributing them to local depository libraries. The program is mandated by NRS 378.150 through NRS 378.200.
Benefits of this program to state government and the public are numerous:
- State publications are cataloged which makes the publications “findable.”
- The public can request the materials through interlibrary loan at their local library, or come into the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records and check the publications out.
- Agencies can refer requests to the library. The service is especially valuable when the publication is out-of-print.
- Reference librarians at the depository libraries are trained to assist the public in finding the publications that they need. This saves agencies and the public time.
