Description

The Bureau of Land Management's General Land Office Records is an essential public resource providing access to historical federal land records including image access to more than five million federal land title records, homesteads, cash patents, military warrants, and railroad grants dating back to 1820. Also see images related to survey plats and field notes dating back to 1810 which are critical for boundary verification, land history, and mapping. Use the interactive mapping tool to display current land status in specific townships, with overlays showing mineral rights, leases, and land ownership data.

Used by researchers, historians, genealogists, surveyors, land planners, title companies and real estate professionals, land and mineral rights stakeholders, and lawyers as evidence in boundary disputes or land claims.

Search the database by name, township, range, meridian, document type and download high-resolution documents. Formal certified copies for legal and archival purposes are available for purchase. The database also works with other Bureau of Land Management systems like MLRS and Alaska SDMS for more detailed land and mineral deposit information.
