About

The Nevada State Library, Archives, and Public Records is an agency within the Department of Administration and adheres to the Legislative Authority and directives as noted in NRS378. The Nevada State Archives serves as the institutional memory of state government by preserving and providing access to original records that document the history of Nevada's government. The State Library offers unique resources to Nevada's citizens, libraries, local governments, state agencies, and businesses. These resources include a full range of information and reference services; library planning and development; and services designed for citizens with disabilities. 

Mission Statement

The Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records’ mission is to provide state agencies and Nevadans with equitable access to information by preserving the historical record of Nevada, enhancing the service capacity of the library community, guiding public agencies in the efficient maintenance of their records, and meeting the research and reading needs of all Nevadans.
