Library Services provides support to State of Nevada agencies and employees, as well as serves Nevada’s academic, school, public, and special libraries, and residents of the Silver State. The library is the primary depository for all State of Nevada government publications. We have a vast collection frequently used in education, scholarly research, and business. Among the many items found in our collection are Nevada newspapers and other historical records on microfilm and fiche, government publications at the federal, state, county, and city level, maps, and, many, many books covering topics of Nevada interest, such as mining, the old West, organized crime, prominent historical figures, and indigenous peoples. Clink on the links below to explore what we have to offer.

The Library recently subscribed to ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Nevada Collection, which contains the Reno Evening Gazette (1876-1983) and the Reno Gazette-Journal (1984-recent). Each title includes the complete paper, cover-to-cover, with full-page images in PDF format. For newspapers still publishing, coverage extends to within days of the current issue. NSLAPR patrons can access this database with their library barcode. State employees can access when logged into the state network.
