Description

The Labor Commissioner's Office s a division of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, with two locations to serve Nevada's workers and businesses throughout the state. Nevada's workers are critical to the economy and quality of life in our State, and the Labor Commissioner strives to ensure that all workers are treated fairly under the law. The Labor Commissioner responsibilities include:

Compliance and Enforcement:

  • Wage and Hour Complaints;
  • General Employment Complaints;
  • Employment of Minors;
  • Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Reporting on Public Works Projects;
  • Apprentice Utilization Act.

Licensing and Regulatory:

  • Private Employment Agencies;
  • Professional Employer Organizations;
  • Issue Public Works Project numbers;
  • Registration of Apprenticeship Programs through the Nevada State Apprenticeship Council.
