CE Scholarships (also known as Travel to Training)

Application deadline for CE activities that request AIRFARE is 2 months prior

  • Announcement: March 31, 2021
  • Funding Level: up to $1,500 per person per event
  • Total Available Funding: ~ $30,000, pending receipt of 2021 federal award
  • Funding Period: CE Activities occurring July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022
  • Funding Intent: Institutional Capacity/Improve the Library Workforce
  • Application deadline:
    • Rolling; airfare requested: 2 months prior to CE activity for processing of paperwork
    • Rolling; no airfare: 1 month prior to CE activity 
    • Rolling; virtual: 2 weeks prior to virtual event
    • Deadline waivers: Contact LSTA coordinator, reasonable accommodations will be considered.

ARP Digital Collection Development for Public Libraries

 

ARP Plus/Pitch an Idea Grants

For New to You projects that address pandemic response and can be completed by September 30, 2022.

  • Grant Announcement: February 18, 2022
  • Application deadline: March 18, 2022
  • Funding Level: up to $75,000
  • Total Available Funding: ~$350,000
  • Funding Period: January 1, 2022-September 30, 2022
  • Who may apply: Eligible academic, special, k12, tribal, and public libraries may submit ONE application. The LSTA Rubric for evaluating ARP-Plus applications is here.
  • ARP Priorities:
    • a. First, to support digital inclusion efforts to enable libraries to reach residents such as through internet hotspots, accessible Wi-Fi, and digital content and related resources, particularly in support of education, health, and workforce development needs.
    • b. Second, to provide rapid emergency relief to libraries across the country, allowing them to safely respond to the pandemic and implement public health protocols;
    • c. Third, to support library services that meet the needs of communities throughout the U.S., including costs such as personnel, technology, training, materials, supplies, equipment, and associated indirect costs; and
    • d. With respect to (a), (b), or (c), reach tribal and museum partners best positioned to assist with pandemic response efforts, in addition to traditionally eligible library entities, where appropriate.

Not all applications will be funded if requests exceed available funds; successful applications may not be funded in full. Click HERE for the Evaluation Rubric

Successful applications will be innovative with NEW programs or services that will support pandemic response and recovery and solve a specific problem or meet an identified need of the library’s current or potential users. Projects must align with and advance at least one of LSTA ARP priorities.

ARP Formula Grants

  • Round 1 Grant Announcement: June 30, 2021
  • Round 2 Grant Announcement: October, 2021
  • Funding Level: formula based, to de determined by number of participating libraries
  • Total Available Funding: ~$1.8 million
  • Funding Period: July 1, 2021 - August 31, 2022
  • Who may apply: Eligible academic, special, k12, tribal, and public libraries
  • Who may apply for Round 2: Eligible academic, special, k12, tribal, and public libraries who did not participate in Round 1
  • Application:

Competitive Grants

  • Grant Announcement: November 9, 2020
  • Funding Level: $10,001-$75,000
  • Total Available Funding: funding based on 2021 federal award
  • Funding Period: July 1, 2021-August 31, 2022
  • Who may apply: Eligible libraries may submit ONE competitive application
  • Applications: Eligible libraries must submit a Proposal (due 01/15/21) and 1st Draft (due 02/19/21) as well as a final application (due 03/26/21). See Important Dates calendar

 

Mini Grants

  • Grant Announcement: March 10, 2021
  • Funding Level: up to $15,000 (maximum award updated Dec. 2021) total per library jurisdiction (not branch).
    • Libraries may apply for multiple mini grants as long as the aggregate mini grant total for Federal Year 2021 is not more than $15,000.
  • Total Available Funding: $200,000
  • Funding Period: 
    • Cycle 1: July 1, 2021-August 31, 2022
      • Application deadline: May 17, 2021
    • Cycle 2: October 1, 2021-August 31, 2022
      • Application deadline: August 16, 2021
    • Cycle 3: January 1, 2022-August 31, 2022 (funds permitting)
      • Application deadline: November 15, 2021
    • Cycle 4: April 1, 2022-August 31, 2022 (funds permitting)
      • Application deadline: February 15, 2022
  • ​​Who may apply: eligible libraries may apply submit multiple applications. Total aggregate award will not exceed $15,000
