About the Family Reading Program

The Nevada State Library, Archives & Public Records partnered with the Northern Nevada Literacy Council (NNLC) to offer workshops in northern and southern Nevada to introduced librarians, library staff, and community partners to the Family Reading Program (FRP). The FRP works with children and parents to improve literacy and model good family literacy behaviors for the home. By working with families, the FRP will build strong literacy-related habits that will achieve the goal of doubling the number of children who read proficiently after the third grade.
