The BARD program is the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped's free digital book download service. Digital books, digital magazine titles, music books and scores, and Braille books are available in BARD with new items added daily.
To qualify for BARD, one must first have an active Nevada Talking Book Services account, be in good standing, have an e-mail address, and a high-speed Internet connection. Downloading books or magazines from BARD also requires some computer expertise.
This video will give you step-by-step instructions on how to download books from BARD. Or link to our written instructions.
NTBS patrons with a BARD account may download audio and braille books to their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The BARD Mobile app is available through the Apple iTunes Store. This free app allows readers to download audio and braille books from their NLS BARD accounts and play them on these devices.
NTBS patrons can access audio books and magazines from an Android smartphone or tablet. Download the free app from Google play site.
