2025 LSTA

About Continuing Education (CE) / Travel to Training (TtT) Grants

This funding opportunity provides up to $2,000 per person for approved training / professional development events. Eligible events may include in-person conferences and training that require travel within the United States (international travel is not permitted). Virtual training formats, such as webinars and online conferences, may also qualify. Please review the detailed eligibility and cost allowability guidance below.

  • Funding Level: up to $2,000 per person per event (International travel not allowed)
  • Funding Period: Activities occurring July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026
  • Funding Priority: Continuing Education / Professional Development
  • Application Options:
    • LIBRARY option: the library applies, pays all expenses for their employee(s), and submits a reimbursement request and final reportl through the Community Grants portal (see details below)
    • INDIVIDUAL option: the individual applies, pays their own expenses and submits a request for reimbursement via email to nslaprlsta@admin.nv.gov - no Community Grants portal access (see details below)
  • Allowable expenses: Event registration fees, training materials specific to the event, airfare, lodging, meals (not included in registration fees), transportation to and from airport / hotel, parking, mileage if over 50 miles from work site
  • Application deadlines:
    • Virtual: 2 weeks before CE event
    • In-person: 2 weeks before CE Event
    • In-person events including airfare: 2 months before the event (deadline waivers may be granted on a case-by-case basis).

How to Participate as a Library:

In this option, the employing Library Organization will be awarded an LSTA grant, will pay all expenses, and be reimbursed for actual expenditures.

  1. Read the 2025 LSTA Continuing Education (CE) Grant for Libraries Template and Instructions
  2. Submit the 2025 LSTA Continuing Education (CE) Grant for Libraries application online through the COMMUNITY GRANTS PORTAL.
  3. Award notifications and funding recommendations will be sent to applicant libraries as soon as possible.
    • Prior to finalization of the award, successful applicants must: 
      • Respond to funding recommendations.
      • Submit a complete set of Required Signature Documents (NSLAPR requires one set per library per federal year).

Individual Application Overview

How to Participate as an Individual:

In this option, individuals apply. The individual will pay all CE expenses and be reimbursed by NSLAPR for actual expenditures. Applications will NOT be submitted through the portal, but through this APPLICATION form.

Requirements:

  1. All applicants must have employer permission to participate in the CE activity.
  2. All applicants must be employed by an eligible Nevada Library.
  3. All applicants must register with the State of Nevada as a vendor in order to receive reimbursement payments.
