Competitive Grants Overview

• Funding Level: $10,001-$75,000
• Total Available Funding:  ~$440,000; funding based on 2023 federal award
• Funding Period: July 1, 2023-August 31, 2024
• Funding Priorities:  
  1. Capacity and Sustainability
  2. Outreach and Partnerships
  3. Programs and Services
• Who may apply: Eligible Nevada Libraries.

• Project requirements: 
  • Projects must advance Nevada LSTA Goals as outlined in the Nevada LSTA 5-year plan, 2023-2027
  • Projects must conform with 2 CFR 200, the Code of Federal Regulations for Grants and Agreements. See: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-2/subtitle-A/chapter-II/part-200?toc=1

• Step 2, Mandatory Proposal: Due 03/03/23

  • Submit proposals through the online Grants Portal: https://nslapr.force.com/portal

• Step 3, Mandatory 2022 Competitive Application Webinar, 03/24/23

  • Attend the mandatory 2023 Competitive Application webinar on March 24, 2023 @ 3:00 pm, or
  • View the recording posted here: https://nsla.nv.gov/2023LSTA/webinars

• Step 3b, Optional 1st Draft: Due 04/14/23

  • Submit your optional application 1st draft through the online Grants Portal:  https://nslapr.force.com/portal 
  • Library Planning and Development staff will schedule consultation and verbal feedback.
  • The application template and instructions can be accessed HERE.

• Step 4, Full Application: Due 05/15/23 

  • Submit full applications through the Grants Portal. Libraries will not be able to submit a complete Competitive Application unless they have submitted a Proposal by 03/01/23.

• Final Steps, Award Notification and Funding Recommendations: June 2023

  • Award notifications and funding recommendations will be sent to applicants in June 2023.
  • Prior to finalization of the award, successful applicants must: 
    • Respond to funding recommendations.
    • Submit a complete set of Required Signature Documents.
